This spring, Dr. Shewark and Logan attended the 2025 Biennial Meeting of the Society for Research in Child Development. Dr. Shewark presented her poster entitled Continuity and Discontinuity in the Etiology of Youth Resilience Development from Middle Childhood Through Adolescence. Her research examined how youths' social and psychiatric resilience to under-resourced neighborhoods changes over the course of middle childhood and adolescence. The results showed that social and psychiatric resilience tend to increase over time, and that the genetic and environmental factors influencing resilience differ depending on the type of resilience being considered.
